Re-Paint used on an AC Cobra to protect suspension parts

The video below shows a slideshow of before and after results to an AC Cobra suspension.

The following specifications may help

1 - The primer used was Re-Paint Red Oxide

2 - The Topcoat is Re-Paint Rosso Red.

You can do this to any sports, race or trackday car. Off road vehicles also benefit from such protection. Whatever the application, it will be worth while.

Reasons for doing this job:

There is a few good reasons. The first that comes to mind is for the good looks, especially on a show car for example. The pictures dont serve it enough justice. However it does give you an idea of the results achieved quite easily. The serious reasons for carrying out such a job also include:

1 - Re-Paint will protect vital parts from corrsion. Sure the bushes, etc still need attention and maintenance as usual. But, Re-Paint will prevent suspension components such as anti roll bars, subframes and raduis arms from corrosion. Bushes are cheap, subframes, radius arms, etc are not cheap!

2 - The vehicle may need a freshen up. You can use Re-Paint to give a new lease of life to trailers, trucks, vans, cars, gates, railings, stuctures, outside buildings, garage doors and more.

3 - The vehicle may be a classic, race spec or other specialist vehicle. It pays to protect the components, chassis and other vital areas from corrosion. Its also a good selling point for in the future. Think about it, if someone takes the time to do such work to their vehicle, you know it is well looked after. And you also have the peace of mind that knowing all parts, chassis, etc are protected.

3 - Another really good point to make is how much easier it is to clean off dirt, grime and mud. It just falls off! And then looks as good as when the job was first done. We have got vehicles we have done this to ourselves, and after 5 years they are still looking as good as when first done!

4 - It looks really, really good!! The Motorhome looked as good as new when done!

Re-Paint Project Number 1 (July 2008)

We had to do something big for our first project! It had to be low budget, but something worth doing and a good surface area. One of the guys that works at Re-Paint wanted a campervan / motorhome. We decided to source a rusty camper, it was a mature 1988 model so plenty of rust and bad paintwork in an aged cream colour, very retro! All said, it was still solid, just aged as expected for a 1988 vehicle. We decided it should be brought upto date with a modern White paint. So we got to work using Re-Paint Artic White. The end results were truely spectacular, and we was all very impressed for our first project. Click here to go to the projects page and see the results.

Re-Paint Project Number 2 (November 2009)

For our second project we decided to paint a Renault Clio Williams 3 racing / track day car. The rear beam, inner arches and rear suspension components were treated with Jenolite rust remover, then coated with Re-Paint Red Oxide, followed by detail painting with Aztec Yellow, Rosso red and black. I think you will agree it looks a whole lot better now.

Re-Paint Project Number 3 (September 2011)

What next? Its an A C Cobra! All the under chassis, rear axle, front wishbones, etc all detail painted in Re-Paint. All I can say is look at the pictures! Even if you don't have a show car, this is something that any car like this should be like underneath! And its seriously impressive when you are driving behind the car as you can see all the detail painted rear axle. It just screams out - I cost a fortune! But it didn't, a 1 litre tin of Re-Paint Rosso Red see the whole job done! And there was some left over - Handy for the next job - Take a look at all our projects by clicking here.

Re-Paint Project Number 4 (November 2011)

Our biggest, and possibly the beat project to date. Registered ship, Little Ann II is officially painted in Re-Paint Artic White. And very well she looks too. As a 1946 ship, this is an old girl, solid, but old. Needless to say that Re-Paint will continue to look after her! Please note that Re-Paint is only used above the water line. Antifoul is essential below the waterline. See videos and more info here.
